Check home network recovery
Use a short recovery worksheet to distinguish app, device and network failures in a Vigil installation.
Write down the working state
Record the computer, supported device models and network arrangement when the setup works. Keep a simple list of expected controls and actual device states. This gives a reference when a later change causes a failure.
Change one condition
Restart the app before changing the network. If the problem remains, inspect whether the original device app or physical control still works. Avoid changing several settings at once; doing so makes the cause harder to identify.
- Reopen Vigil and repeat the original control.
- Check the device through its normal manual path.
- Verify the computer and device are on the intended network.
Close the test
After recovery, replay the original action and a related scene. Record the exact conditions that restored operation. If recovery has not been demonstrated, keep that item open rather than treating discovery alone as a repair.
