Plan your setup
Start with a one-room pilot
Prove one useful scene before expanding your smart-home setup.
Choose a room where you can easily observe the devices involved. A lamp or another supported, low-consequence device gives you a clear result to test. Write down the exact model and connection method; a brand name alone does not establish compatibility.
Work through it
- Connect the computer and device to the intended local network. Check the current support information and confirm the device can be discovered and controlled.
- Build one scene with an obvious result. Run it several times and compare the actual device state with what the app reports.
- Test manual control, a device restart and a temporary connection loss. Record what happens and how you return to a known state.
Check your result
- The exact model has been tested.
- Reported and observed states agree.
- Manual control remains understandable to the household.
