The subscription

Vigil for Mac and Windows is $25/month, cancel anytime. While subscribed you can download and run the current app on your own supported computers for your own home. Cancelling stops future billing; the app's local features keep whatever your last entitlement allows. Don't redistribute or resell the app.

Sensor nodes

Own-brand sensor nodes are sold as pre-orders and ship when hardware is ready. You can cancel a pre-order for a full refund any time before it ships — reply to your pre-order receipt.

Health, medical, and life-safety limits

Vigil suppresses some estimates that do not pass its internal signal-quality checks. Those checks do not establish medical accuracy. Vigil's readings and alerts have not been clinically validated and must not be used for diagnosis, treatment, emergency decisions, or as a substitute for medical, fire, carbon-monoxide, intrusion-alarm, or other life-safety equipment. Vigil does not contact emergency services. You are responsible for testing your setup and for complying with laws that apply to recording, sensing, residents, and visitors. Read the Consumer Health Data Privacy Notice before enabling health-adjacent sensing or alerts.

Consumer use and HIPAA

The consumer edition is offered directly to individuals for personal household use. Black Label does not represent it as HIPAA compliant or HIPAA certified and does not currently offer a business associate agreement for Vigil. Do not use Vigil to create, receive, maintain, or transmit protected health information on behalf of a HIPAA covered entity or business associate unless Black Label first completes a written review and signs the agreements required for that deployment.

Your endpoint and local security

If you enable Away Alerts, you choose and control the destination. Alert text can contain a resident name and a security or health-adjacent event. Use HTTPS; plain HTTP is unencrypted. Protect the Mac account and local backups that hold Vigil's database, and consider enabling FileVault. You are responsible for the security and availability of destinations, networks, hardware, permissions, and third-party services you configure.

Refunds

If Vigil won't run on your supported computer and support can't fix it, reply to your Stripe receipt within 14 days of first purchase and we'll refund the first month.

No warranty

Vigil is provided as-is, without warranties of any kind. Our total liability is limited to what you've paid in the last 12 months.

Changes

If these terms change, the current version will always live at this address. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
